Objective
The purpose of this policy is to specify the potential risks associated with our trails and treasure hunts, outline our efforts to lessen these risks, and clarify our position on participant safety, awareness, and liability.
Policy
Risk Identification and Evaluation
For each trail/treasure hunt designed, SeekersCode performs a comprehensive risk evaluation. Potential risks can encompass, but are not restricted to, vehicular traffic, uneven walking surfaces, crowded areas, contact with animals, and variable weather conditions.
Risk Reduction
To mitigate these identified risks, our trails are designed in areas that offer pedestrian-friendly paths, ample lighting, and are routinely patrolled by local law enforcement authorities. These trails are regularly reassessed to keep up with any changes in the environment. Participants are directed to stick to the designated paths and are explicitly instructed to follow pedestrian regulations and local laws consistently. In addition, we make every effort to inform participants of the risks involved in our activities. Prior to every game, participants are provided with detailed safety guidelines that outline potential hazards and appropriate precautions. We also require participants to sign a liability waiver, acknowledging their understanding of the risks and releasing our company from liability to the extent permitted by law.
Participant Safety and Awareness
Before the commencement of a trails or treasure hunt, all participants receive detailed safety information and advice. This includes warnings of the possible risks involved. Please see our Safety Guidelines.
Responsibility and Liability
Participants are reminded that their personal safety and the safety of their group are their responsibility. The individual who books the activity, referred to as the “booking party”, assumes full responsibility for the safety of their group – and also agrees to our Liability Waiver at checkout. This includes being vigilant about their surroundings at all times. While SeekersCode exerts considerable effort to ensure safe experiences, we cannot control every aspect of public areas. As such, we cannot assume liability for any incidents, damages, or unexpected occurrences that may happen during the trail/treasure hunts. It is crucial that the booking party understands this and communicates the same to their group. Please see our Safety Guidelines.
Emergency Preparedness
Participants are strongly advised to formulate a personal emergency plan. This might involve knowing the location of the nearest public amenities and ensuring they carry a fully charged mobile device for making emergency calls. Please see our Safety Guidelines for more information.
Respect for Property and Environment
Participants are expected to respect both public and private properties and refrain from causing any environmental damage during the treasure hunts. Our trails are planned to bypass environmentally sensitive or culturally significant areas and never involve trespassing or participating in illegal activities. Please see our Physical Access Statement for more information.
Environmental Stewardship
Participants are urged to respect the environment and leave no trace. Littering is strictly discouraged and participants are asked to dispose of waste in a responsible manner. Participants should avoid causing any harm or disturbance to the local flora and fauna. In areas of particular sensitivity, trails are designed to have minimal impact on the environment. We consider the natural beauty of our trails a treasure in its own right, and we urge all participants to help us preserve it.
Continuous Risk Management
The characteristics of the trails and their associated risks are under continual review. Each trail undergoes regular inspections for any changes that might introduce new hazards. Participants’ feedback is crucial in these assessments, and after each event, a review is conducted to identify any incidents or near misses that occurred during the event, helping us to continually refine our risk management strategies.
Communication and Safety Briefings
Participants are directed to our Safety Guidelines before their adventure begins. Depending on the format of the trail, this briefing might be given via printed or digital content. The briefing includes potential risks, appropriate behavior, emergency procedures, and environmental preservation. Clear guidelines are provided on how to contact emergency services if needed.
Policy Revision
This policy will be regularly reviewed and updated to ensure it continues to meet current safety standards and regulations.
Feedback and Reporting
We value the feedback of all participants and encourage them to report any perceived risks or safety issues they encounter during their trail/treasure hunt. Participant feedback plays a crucial role in improving the safety of our trails. Please contact us at
