Easter is here, and what better way to celebrate with your family than by participating in a free Easter weekend activity? We invite the whole whanau of Churton Park and surrounding areas to come out and enjoy the Easter Trail Treasure Hunt at Lakewood Reserve! This exciting event is perfect for tamariki aged between 2-8 years old and is designed to help families (re)discover the park while hunting for treasure along the way.
Event Details:
📍Location: Lakewood Reserve, Churton Park 📅Dates: April 7th to April 10th 2023
How to Participate:
- Grab a map at one of the park’s entrances or use the one provided in the Facebook post.
- Search for five animals hidden throughout the park: an owl, a pig, a chick, a dove, and a rabbit. Each animal has a letter/number that will help reveal your secret code.
- Locate the treasure chest and use the code to unlock it.
- Take a piece of treasure for each child, and remember to lock the box back up when you’re done!
Tips for Success:
- Keep an eye out for the white markings on the footpath; they will help guide you on your hunt.
- The animals can be tricky to find, so parents may need to lend a helping hand to their little ones.

If you notice any damage along the trail, please report it to us via Facebook or by emailing . The treasure chest will be refilled each morning, so if you find it empty, rest assured that it will be replenished soon.
